What this service is

Search That Song is a song-discovery tool that lets users find music from short microphone recordings, humming, singing, lyric fragments, descriptions, or vibes. We aggregate recognition results, metadata, short lyric excerpts, and audio links from third-party services to help you identify a song you have in mind.

Creating and using an account

When you click “Continue with Google” after the signup notice to create an account, you enter into an account-service agreement with Search That Song under these terms. Standard Search, audio recognition, Deep Search, browser-owned History, and Catalogue are available without an account or search quota. An account lets you keep saved History and Catalogue across devices. You agree to follow the acceptable-use rules below and keep your Google account secure. Creating a free account does not purchase a paid plan or authorize a charge.

The account-service agreement continues while your account is open. You can request account closure by contacting [email protected]. We may suspend access for misuse or security reasons, subject to applicable law. Any rights you have under applicable consumer or privacy laws remain unaffected.

Account email series

For new accounts created through the signup notice introduced September 9, 2026, signup includes automatic enrollment in our email series: a welcome email, feature tips every three days through day 18, and weekly song recommendations starting on day 25. The actual dates may be later if delivery is delayed. Messages to free accounts may include offers for ad-free membership. Paid accounts do not receive upgrade pitches in this series.

You may unsubscribe from all tips, recommendations and promotional offers at any time using the link in any email, without signing in and without losing access to your account. Unsubscribing does not stop essential account, security or billing messages where applicable. Merely signing in again does not restart the series, and this update does not automatically enroll older accounts or override a previous unsubscribe.

We record the signup notice and terms version acknowledged during account creation, the date, and the enrollment source. We use Twilio SendGrid for delivery and measure delivery and email interactions as described in our Privacy Policy. These terms do not waive any consent requirements, unsubscribe rights, or other protections that apply under law.

Acceptable use

You may use Search That Song for personal, non-commercial song discovery. You may not:

• Scrape the site at scale, attempt to overload it, or extract our search index.
• Use automated systems to submit queries beyond reasonable personal-use volumes.
• Reproduce or republish substantial portions of our chart data, similar-songs results, or aggregated analytics without attribution.
• Use the service to defame, harass, or violate the rights of others.

Intellectual property

Lyric excerpts, album artwork, and audio shown on or linked from this site belong to their respective rights holders. Lyric excerpts are sourced from community databases such as LRCLIB; metadata, artwork, and audio come from third-party APIs and embeds. Search That Song does not claim ownership of any third-party content. The chart pages, the matching algorithm, the site design, and the original commentary are © Search That Song.

If you're a rights holder and want a piece of content removed, email us at [email protected] with the URL and proof of ownership. We act within 7 business days.

Third-party links and content

The site links out to YouTube, Deezer, Spotify, Genius, and other third parties. We don't control those services and aren't responsible for their content or terms.

Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" with no warranty of accuracy, completeness, or uptime. AI-based matching is probabilistic and will sometimes return wrong answers. If it matters, verify with the linked source.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Search That Song and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Changes

We may update these terms occasionally and will identify the current version and effective date. We will provide notice or seek agreement where required by law. Updating these terms does not by itself enroll an existing account in marketing emails or cancel an unsubscribe.
